I'm always starting new… but i think this time it's for real

In about a week my snuggle butt, Joe, I will be a first time home owners.

It's been exhausting and we've been anxious, excited, stressed, hopeful, and everything in between. After close to 6 years together, considering career plans,  looking at pros and cons of everything, thinking of what we are looking for in an apartment/house, rates/money and all that legal stuff, we just felt it was the right (hopefully smart) decision for us.

We have always been home people. It's very fulfilling to have a space to be proud of and call our own. Without having to worry about messing up someone else's property, security deposits, and having full freedom to do as we please. And the long journey we have ahead of us to spend fixing things up and transforming this new place into a home is something we are both looking forward to. Well, at least the fun stuff.

The next year (or two?) I want to really go crazy with finishing (and I'm sure starting) the things I've been putting off for way too long. I started thinking about a scrapbook for the whole process (since I'm nuts about documenting my life) but I want these moments to last forever! Paper and Scraps fade. But thanks to the good old world wide web, here is my outlet. Are we ready? We shall see.

Cheers! And here's to hoping this week flies by.

Summer 2013

Saturday, July 20, 2013
Some great things are happening this year. But also some stressful plans. While being fully in the workforce (yay no school!) is incredible, it’s a never ending list of things to do, be a part of, accomplish, all while trying to still enjoy life and keep my sanity. While I will slowly but surely be bringing bigger things to the front this year, I want to promote the largest project I’m involved in for the summer.

I had the pleasure of working with Scranton’s own Cristin Powers and other ScrantonMade members throughout the process of designing the marketing material for the event. Along with watching the whole event grow into something incredible for our little community. Just last weekend I attended (for the second time) Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn and saw a ton of amazing artist’s work. I’m proud to say that Arts on the Square is going to be our local comparison! While putting together the website and each of the vendors personalized promotion graphics I noticed a ton of new businesses coming out into one place as a community.
So if there’s one thing to add to your list of summer events, July 27th at the courthouse square in downtown Scranton from noon-8pm is when it’s all happening. You can’t miss it.
